Time Zone Map

One of our Maths focus groups has been looking at time zones. Today, we used this interactive map to explore time zones outside Australia. Some students in that group have asked if they can go back and look at it again as part of their homework (as a quick maths activity), so I said I would put the link up for them to access through the blog. You might like to give them three or four (well-known!) capital cities, have them write down what time it is in Melbourne, and what time it is in the other cities. If they really want a challenge, they can see if they can remember what GMT stands for, where it is, and how far ahead of GMT we are here in Melbourne!
